Designer Inspired DIY Home Decor Projects

Between moving, vacation, preparing for graduate school and weddings galore, I have obviously neglected to blog. With the move came a clean slate for decorating and I am slowly in the process of finishing the job... Here are a few projects I've completed and I managed to do so for half the cost or less than the original inspiration.
ZGallerie is notorious for making me want to redo rooms... While walking through the store, many times I have stopped and contemplated buying their infamous street name canvases of big cities. Two problems.... 1) They cost a fortune & 2) Nashville must not be as popular as Chicago. I decided to forgo forking over a fortune and attempt to make my own "Nashville Version." Here are the results.

WHAT I USED:
I bought the canvas 40% off at Michaels
Acrylic Paint
Martha Stewart Crackle Medium
2" 3" & 6" Stencils in Helvecta Bold Font
Sponge Dabber
Paint brushes

I have also obsessed over the gold letters in Ballard Designs but couldn't rationalize buying THREE WOODEN LETTERS for $75!!! Not happening. Instead I opted for 4 dimensional paper mâché letters that I painted gold. The results are below!

WHAT I USED:
4 paper mâché letters from Michaels
Krylon Gold Spray Paint
Clear Gloss Finishing Spray
Drop Cloth

My apartment is a work in progress but I will post pictures as rooms are finished. Happy Crafting :)
